Opening of the monument "Dictionary of Great Russian Language" by Vladimir Ivanovich Dahl

Today, in a festive atmosphere, the unveiling of the monument to the Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language by Vladimir Ivanovich Dahl took place. A new monument was erected in front of the building of the Orenburg Regional Universal Library named after N.K. Krupskaya.
The Governor of the Orenburg Region Denis Pasler noted: “I have no doubt that the art object will become a center of attraction for Orenburg residents and visitors. And we are proud that the idea to create a monument to the Dahl dictionary was born and embodied in our Orenburg region.”
The idea to perpetuate the memory of the great Russian classic belongs to the Eurasia charity foundation. The monument was made by sculptor Alexander Sukmanov.
During the opening ceremony of the monument, the Orenburg Chamber Choir (artistic director is Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation, Professor Olga Serebriyskaya) sang the Orenburg city anthem.
