Authors of this, perhaps, of one of the most known in Soviet period of a song, got acquainted accidentally in Pravda newspaper editorial office. It were future classics of the Soviet song genre - the poet Mikhail Isakovsky and the composer Matvei Blanter. Having remembered about the begun poem about "Katyusha" there and having given the written lines, Isakovsky doubted that something acceptable can turn out. But Blanter treated them in a different way. Perhaps, he caught alarm of the coming war, the Red Army was already at war in Spain and at the Lake Hasan.

So there was a lyrical song which undoubtedly got to "the" disturbing time, historical events. And itself became an era symbol.
For the first time "Katyusha" sounded on November 27, 1938 in the Columned hall of the House of the Unions in Moscow. The first it was executed by Valentina Batishcheva – the jazz singer performing with jazz bands in the foyer of movie theaters and on a platform of capital restaurant "Moscow".

There will pass several years, and with the woman's name Katyusha will associate the rocket launchers directing horror at Hitlerite troops.
