The Orenburg chamber choir will act in the Big hall of one of the oldest philharmonic halls of Russia – the St. Petersburg academic philharmonic hall of D.D. Shostakovich.
On June 22, in memorial of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, in the Big hall of philharmonic hall a concert where performed by the Academic symphonic orchestra of philharmonic hall (the artistic director - the people's artist of the USSR Yury Temirkanov), Concert choir of the St. Petersburg state institute of culture (the artistic director - the winner of the international competitions, the composer Sergey Ekimov) and the Orenburg chamber choir (the artistic director - the honored worker of arts of the Russian Federation Olga Serebriyskaya) and soloists of the Maryinsky Theater Larisa Radchenko (soprano), Larisa Pominova (mezzo-soprano), Oleg Trofimov (tenor), Oleg Radchenko (bass) the well-known REQUIEM by Sergey SLONIMSKY and the Symphony No. 6 "Pastoral" Ludwig van BEETHOVEN will be heard will be held.

Viardo, P. Sarasate and many others. Here many compositions of classics of the Russian music Borodin, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Glazunov were for the first time heard...
In the Big hall the most famous musicians of the present gave concerts: O. Klemperer, B. Walther, L. Stokovsky, A. Schnabel, Are. Rubenstein, V. Horowitz, B. Britten, D. Fischer-Diskau, S. Richter, A.B. Mikelandzheli, M. Rostropovich and many others. On a platform of the Big hall played the Boston, Philadelphian, Clevelend, Chicago orchestras, orchestras of the Berlin, Vienna and New York philharmonic halls, the Amsterdam orchestra "Kontsertgebau".
Here great destinies began. On May 12, 1926 the first performance of the First symphony of D. Shostakovich has taken place. Many years the great composer was applauded in this hall. In the 30th years he came already from Moscow to premieres of the symphonies, and now the St. Petersburg philharmonic hall bears his name.
Now the Big hall of the St. Petersburg philharmonic hall - one of the best concert halls of Europe. To act in him it is considered honourable and prestigious. A lot of things have changed in concert life of the hall, other names decorate his posters, but, as before, it is, according to the famous literary critic and the actor Irakli Andronikov, "one of the best places on the earth."
