"From coast of English Channel – to coast of the Urals", Lyudmila Peshkova "Evening Orenburg" No. 37 of 10.09.2014

On September 4 in the Orenburg regional philharmonic hall the charity concert of the Orenburg municipal chamber chorus took place. The program was devoted to recent celebration of the 271st anniversary since the birth of the city. Behind a conductor's stand there was an Italian maestro Silvio Segantini, the conductor and the chorus master working in the different cities of Europe, the head of chorus and a chamber orchestra of Versailles.

This evening the concert hall couldn't accomodate all fans of choral music – fans of known collective which is exactly 250 years younger than the hometown. For execution in Orenburg the program of a sacred music of the Italian composers J. Puccini and J. Verdi was chosen. It is interesting that the mass of "DiGloria" of Puccini and "Four spiritual compositions" of Verdi in Orenburg didn't sound before is there was a premier execution.
Besides, it should be noted that two months ago the Orenburg chamber chorus met the maestro Segantini at the VII Festival "Music on the Nacreous Coast". Our fellow countrymen arrived on the Festival as "special guest" already for the second time. And as residents of Orenburg came to Normandy in the conditions of a difficult political situation, the French press called visit of our chorus "a special sign of a unification of the people".
The singing collective became "the ambassador of the world" in Normandy. After all this year the International musical holiday passed under the sign of the 70 anniversary of disembarkation of allied troops on the bank of English Channel and opening of "the second front" during the II World war. At all concerts there were representatives of the participating countries of events in Normandy and mayors of all cities where passed concerts. Therefore solo and joint performances of the Orenburg chorus with creative collectives of the European countries became musical gratitude to soldiers of Russia, Europe and the USA for our general Great Victory.
Our fellow countrymen prepared some programs: The IX symphony of Beethoven, Puccini and Verdi's spiritual works, "The ballad about heroes" B. Britten, choral compositions of the Russian and French classics, a song of the Great Patriotic War.
The "Italian" part of this program sounded and at a present concert in the Orenburg philharmonic hall. Each work caused a storm of emotions: an applause sounded even in short pauses between parts of a mass, and in end of the program the public suited to musicians, the conductor and heads of chorus a long ovation.

In the concert final the Deputy Mayor of Orenburg Andrey Shevchenko and the head of administration of the city Evgeny Arapov stepped on the stage. They warmly congratulated the guest of the Orenburg earth maestro Silvio Segantini and expressed warm gratitude to organizers of a concert – the artistic director of chorus Olga Serebriyskaya, the pianist who replaced with herself the whole orchestra – to Galina Serebriyskaya and all participants of the program.
– The concert of the Orenburg chamber chorus dated for the City Day became an excellent gift to all judges of art. Difficult to describe emotions from performance by words! – Evgeny Arapov noted. – I want to tell many thanks to Gennady Pavlovich Donkovtsev, unfortunately, who left us for his idea and creation of municipal chamber chorus, to express words of gratitude to Yury Mishcheryakov for support and development of collective. It is sure, and many residents of Orenburg will support me, our chorus – one of the best musical collectives in the country.
